Meaning of  St. James’ Green Methodist Church Logo

  1. Scollop shell is used to represent the Apostle James and his association with Christian Pilgrimage. The symbolism of the vertical veins being the start of many journeys which all lead to one point - God.
  2. The green shell colour represents St. James’ Green or as it was sometimes known, the Great Green. The Green is the supposed site of the medieval chapel of St. James.
  3. The graduated coloured background represents all peoples of the world and their diversities.
  4. This is surrounded by a white line to represent Gods love, which depending on the background colour may not be visible but its always there.
